5 Reasons to Choose A Personal Trainer Over a Gym Membership

Here are 5 Reasons to choose a Personal Trainer.

#1 Motivation – Even Olympic athletes experience lags in their levels of motivation, so why would you be any different? Heading to the gym to perform the same old routine can be monotonous after a few weeks. Working with an experienced Personal Trainer, who changes your workout regularly and adapts it to your needs and who is ready with plans to overcome barriers, is invaluable when it comes to achieving your health and fitness goals. The best kind add variety to your workout and come to you.

#2 Time – It can be a challenge to find the time to squeeze in workouts at a gym. Not to mention battling traffic, finding parking, or having to take public transportation, only to wait in a queue to use the cardio machine at an overly crowded facility. Fitness Anywhere sends a Personal Trainer TO YOU, no matter if you’re on your lunch hour at work or at home. Our training sessions work around your schedule, and they maximize your precious time by choosing the most effective moves that will get the results you are looking for faster than randomly using machines at a gym. We’ll also give you the keys to working out on your own, for those days when you just can’t manage to squeeze in time with the Trainer.

#3 Individualization and Personalization – Tried working out in the past and didn’t get the results you wanted? When it comes to fitness training, individualization is the key to success. Because every person is so different in mind, body and spirit, your training sessions should be as well. After a free consultation with a Personal Trainer, we’ll customize a program that is specifically geared to your body type, your mind set, and your individual goals for health, weight and fitness. Forget about experimenting with machines or classes that aren’t right for you. Your time is far too precious. We’ll help you see results fast.

#4 Money – It is inevitable that when you want RESULTS, you will have to budget a little bit of money, one way or another. Not only do we customize a fitness program for your specific goals, we also find ways to customize your payments so that they work for you. Choose our pay monthly option, pay per session, or choose a 10 session package. The options are numerous, so have a look at our pricing page for more details or ask us directly during your first free consultation.

#5 FUN – Studies show that success in achieving health and fitness goals is directly related to your social support system and whether you perceive the experience as fun and enjoyable. Having a Personal Trainer to encourage you each step of the way, can add a fun element to your workout.

A Healthier Sex Life…Literally!

For some, having a healthy and active lifestyle aren’t reason enough to exercise, but what about fitness to increase your libido and improve your sex life?
Regular exercise, for obvious reasons, can give you a firmer body, which will naturally boost your confidence when you’re naked in front of your partner. Also, exercise is a natural mood enhancer and stress reducer as levels of serotonin (chemicals in your brain responsible for feelings of joy and happiness) increase during physical activity. But there’s much more to it than simply confidence and stress reduction.
Exercise can build your stamina in the bedroom. Good energetic sex needs good cardiovascular endurance to sustain it. You don’t want to damper a good thing simply because you’re winded. You can improve your cardio fitness by getting your heart rate elevated 2-3 times per week by walking, jogging or cycling. If you’re really adventurous, add climbing stairs to your routine.
Also, performing unusual sexual positions for a worthwhile amount of time can demand that you have strong muscles. Improve your muscular endurance by performing high repetitions of squats, pelvic tilts, planks and pushups. It’s better to have your muscles burn beforehand in the gym than later when you need them in the bedroom.
Finally, being flexible can give you a more limber body overall and a better range of motion to help you get in and out of positions easily without awkward pauses. Toe touches, hip/glute stretches and inner thigh stretches daily will have you limber for your bedroom endeavours.
Enjoy ALL the benefits of exercise, not just the ones your doctor will tell you about.

Feeling …bla? How to get something out of those low motivation days.

Feeling …bla? How to get something out of those low motivation days.

It’s inevitable and it happens to the best of us. We all experience those low days when we know we need to get up and get active, but we just don’t have the drive to do it. We put off training, making excuses for doing it later, or even the next day, saying to yourself… “I’ll wait til it stops raining, til the traffic dies down, or I’ll go after work instead of going before.”
Sometimes it has nothing to do with energy levels or fatigue, but the continuous argument between your body, your brain and your schedule that keeps you from getting it done. My advice…get up and do something….anything. If’ you’re having this argument with yourself, and you really don’t feel like training, give in with a compromise: Tell yourself that you’ll do something for 15 minutes and if you still feel the same, then you can quit and call it a day.
Chances are, that when you start to exercise the increases in blood circulation and oxygen to your brain will change your mood. In other words, once you feel the effects, you probably won’t want to stop. And if it turns out that you still do, well at least you performed 15 minutes of exercise. Something is better than nothing!

Don’t put on your fat pants this Thanksgiving! Tips to keep you from overdoing it!

Thanksgiving is one of my favourite holidays. However, it’s an event that can set you back in terms of accomplishing your healthy weight goals if you’re not careful. One of the problems is that it’s a holiday where we tend to focus on the food rather than the people. When planning or attending a Thanksgiving event, keep the people as your main focus. Let the social aspect be of utmost importance and you’ll see that the food will just become secondary.

If you’re lucky enough to be host, include a pre or post dinner activity so that the meal really isn’t the main focus. Organize a little bocci ball, a family walk around the neighbourhood, or a good game of horse shoes on the lawn. These memories will last far longer than the taste of the meal!

When it does comes time for the meal, by all means enjoy it!! It is a holiday and that’s what holidays are all about. Indulge…but don’t overindulge! What are some surefire ways you can be sure that you don’t over do it?

Start by serving yourself, if possible. That way you can control your portion sizes. Have a little bit of everything, never depriving yourself, but sample and instead of heaping it on your plate. You want to have a meat portion about the size of a deck of cards, 1/2 cup of starches (stuffing, potatoes etc), and a full cup of vegetables. And since it is a holiday, go ahead and have that special treat…dessert! But share it with someone or only have a small portion.

One area of the meal that can quickly put a halt to your healthy weight progress is alcohol. One glass of wine alone can have between 100 and 140 calories alone. All forms of alcohol are empty calories. Your body simply treats them like sugar. One glass of wine can take up to 10 minutes running with a good stride on a treadmill. To monitor your alcohol consumption, try having a glass of water between every glass. This will keep you hydrated and will help prevent you from overdoing it…not to mention, it will help keep a hangover at bay.

Voila! Enjoy the holiday and be sure to indulge…just don’t overindulge! …And if you happen to read this thread too late, put those extra calories you consumed to good use and burn them off the old fashioned way.
